Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Gainesville and Cooke County by providing humane care, shelter, and advocacy for unwanted, abandoned, and abused animals.

Established in 2006 to address the growing need for a safe and compassionate animal shelter in our community, Noah’s Ark works in cooperation with the City of Gainesville to care for impounded animals while also accepting owner-relinquished pets when space allows.

While we work closely with local authorities, Noah’s Ark is not an enforcement agency. Our role is centered on animal care, rehabilitation, and placement — ensuring every animal is treated with dignity and given the opportunity for a successful future.

Cat Adoptions

Cat Adoptions Include:

• Spay/Neuter, deworming, Feline Leukemia testing (all cats adopted out are negative for FeLV), flea/tick prevention, FVRCP vaccine, ear cleaning.
• Local adopters also receive a FREE health exam and rabies vaccine at participating veterinary clinics.
• We occasionally adopt out FIV+ cats and are happy to educate adopters about what that means.
• Adoption fee varies based on age, medical care, and transport needs.
