Beyond daily operations, Noah’s Ark sustains several targeted funds designed to meet the unique needs of the most vulnerable animals in Gainesville and Cooke County.
Freedom Riders
To decrease pet overpopulation in Cooke County, Noah’s Ark launched "Freedom Riders," a transport initiative connecting Gainesville, TX, with partners in states like Illinois, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire. Because these northern regions have stricter spay/neuter compliance and higher demand for adoptable pets, we bridge the gap by relocating animals to their facilities. We are currently expanding our partner network to save even more lives through these lifesaving journeys!
Veterans Program
Noah’s Ark proudly honors those who served through our dedicated Veterans Program. We believe the companionship of a loyal pet offers unique healing and joy, so we consistently provide discounted adoption fees for all veterans. Furthermore, many of our partner veterinary clinics in Gainesville join us in this mission by offering special discounts on professional services for veteran-owned pets. It is our way of saying thank you to our local heroes while saving lives.
Pet Food Pantry
Noah’s Ark believes that no pet should go hungry and no family should have to surrender a beloved companion due to temporary financial hardship. To support our neighbors, we operate a dedicated Pet Food Pantry for those in Gainesville and Cooke County in need of assistance. This vital resource provides nutritious meals for dogs and cats, ensuring they stay healthy and safe at home. We rely on community donations to keep our shelves stocked and our local paws well-fed!

Through the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters events, Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter is able to offer reduced adoption fees thanks to adoption grant funding—helping more pets find safe, loving homes.

Neuter is Cuter
Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter knows that "Neuter is Cuter" for many reasons. Sterilized pets behave better and are less likely to roam, fight, or add to the overpopulation crisis. While we neuter every animal before adoption, the high volume of pets we rescue and transport to Northern shelters creates a heavy financial strain. To help Gainesville, we offer a low-cost program where owners can buy $50 vouchers for sterilization at local clinics. Help us work toward a future without homeless pets.
